What is stored

You can read Factliner without an account. If you create one, we store your email address, the topics you choose to follow, stories you bookmark, comments and votes, and aggregate reading totals used for your public achievements. We do not upload a list of the articles you read.

What is not stored

No passwords — sign-in is by emailed link or Google. We do not store your per-account reading history on our servers. Searchable history (up to 30 days) and your research notebook are stored in your browser on this device. Export notebook backups before clearing browser data. Your public profile can show how many articles and minutes you have read, but not which articles. Nothing is sold.

Your public profile and editions

Your chosen display name, bio, profile colors, background and optional song are public. Saved custom news editions and keyword rules are private account settings stored in Supabase so they can follow you across devices. We do not upload your device reading history to apply the skip-read setting.

Profile music

An optional profile song loads a visible YouTube player only after you choose Play. YouTube then receives normal connection information, including your IP address and browser details. We use its privacy-enhanced player and do not extract or host audio. Playback availability, controls and any ads are managed by YouTube.

Market charts

When you ask for a supported market chart, a TradingView widget loads in your browser. TradingView receives normal connection information such as your IP address and browser details. Quotes may be delayed. Chart values come from the widget, not from the AI model. We do not send TradingView your account details or conversation.

Advertising

The free edition may show ads through Google AdSense when advertising is enabled. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.

Data you can remove

You can delete your account directly from Account settings. That removes your email, topics, bookmarks, comments and any active subscription. If the control does not work, email support@factliner.com for help.

Third parties

Vercel hosts the website. Supabase manages accounts and the database; Resend delivers sign-in emails from support@factliner.com. Cloudflare routes incoming support mail to the publisher. Stripe processes subscriptions and payment details; card numbers are not stored in Factliner's database. Questions sent to the research assistant are processed by its configured AI and search providers, so do not include sensitive personal information. Ads, when enabled, come from Google. Outbound links go to the publishers of the reporting a story cites; their own privacy terms apply once you leave.
